Design for IMPACT: Create a framework for company X to demonstrate measurable impact through CSR

  Resolution:  Develop an emergent design for this partnership - Workshop to develop a framework or change or SITSC  - Strategic Impact led theory of Social Change involving key stakeholders. Develop an emergent evaluation framework with implementors. Clarify key decisions and reporting mechanisms. 

The SITSC in our experience create 4 significant opportunities for an organisation

(1) Ensure that CSR funding is spent in a systematic, measured, implementable and accountable manner, bringing value to the vulnerable communities, 

(2) Create a visible Return on Investment for the grant giving organization.

(3) Bring social impact into Brand and Corporate Identity externally.

(4) Enhance the effect of being a ‘Purpose Driven’ firm on staff internally.

Design for real world impact from academic research

  Resolution:  Created the Bridging Theory and Practice Exchange  hosted at the Department of Psychological and Behavioural Insight at the London School of Economics and Political Science - This exchange creates acommunity of practice crossing sector boundaries. Bring practitioners and academics into the same space. Invite experts into the room and give the chair to the person closest to the impact. 

"I found the meeting very stimulating.  It reminds us that perspectives on norm change – even within the same disciplinary approach – are also uniquely different and contested.  It also reminds us that absorbing the implications of disciplinary perspectives takes considerable time.  Importantly learning how to interpret behaviors is vital, but the best we can do is give people a range of options as to how norms may change so they can draw on that which is most relevant to them in their particular contexts and moments in time.

  Resolution: Investigated the community through immersion drawing on insights from design thinking – did the birth clinic exist? Did the mother know about it? Does the mother make the decision to attend? No. So we re-engaged with the donors re-framing the core issues around the demand and supply of anti natal care clinics. A new picture emerged of what success looked like.   

Exciting new approach to increase our impact!

Kavita is in advanced training with supervision at TA works (Oxford) as an Organisational and Educational Psychotherapist. The work has a deep impact on 1-2-1 coaching, improved facilitation, training and working with MULTICULTURAL and TRANSNATIONAL groups in change. The perspective is emergent, co-created, ethical, contemporary and systemic.
